Scenic Singapore, A lesser known Photography Hotspot

Changi Boardwalk, Singapore (MAP)

Visitors to Changi Point will now be able to enjoy strolling along a boardwalk hugging part of the scenic Changi coastline.

The 1.2 km Western Coastline Boardwalk stretching from Changi Beach Club to Changi Sailing Club along the western coast of Changi Point, is part of the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s (URA) infrastructure improvement works to enhance Changi Point. Construction of the Changi Boardwalk started in October 2001 and was completed in August 2003 at the cost of $3.5 million.

The Western Coastline Boardwalk winds along lush greenery and the undulating terrain along the Changi coastline. It is made up of four segments – stretching from ‘Sunset Walk‘ from the western end of Changi Point, to ‘Kelong Walk’, ‘Cliff Walk‘ and ‘Sailing Point Walk’, ending at the Changi Sailing Club.

The ‘Sunset Walk’ allows visitors to enjoy a splendid view of the sunset at the western end of Changi Point, amid a backdrop of huge boulders.

The ‘Kelong Walk’, a stretch of the boardwalk with kelong stilts built over water, allows visitors to reminisce the good old kelong days.

The ‘Cliff Walk’, another stretch of the boardwalk located just below the hilltop chalets, will allow visitors to enjoy a walk through lush trees and greenery. Viewing decks along this stretch give visitors vantage points to take in panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Visitors to the ‘Sailing Point Walk’ near the Changi Sailing Club can enjoy open views of the sea and watch a myriad of sea activities.

A Day at Palawan Beach, Sentosa

Our Deepavali (Diwali) public holiday was spent at the beach today. After days of rain…the weather was pretty good today and we decided to pack our bags and head to Sentosa with our new toys.  At Sentosa, we saw  a lot of Indian foreign workers, and it seems that they are celebrating deepavali with their friends at the beach. I can imagine how much they must have missed home during a special festival like this for a hindu miles away from home.

I guess we did not know what to expect from the Sand Castle Kit we bought a few weeks back. We have not put it to the test despite seeing beautiful sand castle being made by the people who sells it. At the back of my mind, I know that it is not the tools that makes beautiful sand castle, it is the people that uses the tools.

Anyway, the challenge is for us to make good use and practice as we build, like the saying goes ” Rome wasn’t built In a Day”. Behind all perfections and successes you probably find someone who has sweat and toiled before he is where he is today.

Oh well….let’s take a look at what we have achieved on our very first attempt.

Rain

October to December is known for its heaviest rainfall throughout the year. The weather during these 3  months are usually cooler because of the rain. I was driving out this morning and it started raining cats and dogs. This is a picture taken this morning on my way out.

Goat Farm in Singapore

As promised, here are some of the pics i took while at the goat farm a few weeks ago. If i am not wrong, this is the largest goat farm in Singapore. It has about 1000 goats and they do produce fresh goat milk daily. You can buy it at the farm or get it deliver to you daily. The milk comes in 2 flavours, Chocolate and Original. I tasted it and personal find it pretty similar to cow’s milk but a little less creamy and minus the flavours now we get in Cow Milk, like the added vanilla.

This farm is open from 9am to 4pm daily for Farm Visit for walk-ins. Guided Educational Tours can be arranged too.
