6.5th Day of Christmas – Redeemer

I Know my Redeemer Lives – Nicole C. Mullen

This song brings back lots of fond memories. Hope you like it!

The lyrics goes like this;

Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning?
and Who told the ocean you can only come this far?
and Who showed the moon where to hide ’til evening?
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?

Well I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives:
All of creation testifies
This life within me cry
I know my Redeemer lives, yeah.

The very same God that spins things in orbit
runs to the weary, the worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I’m broken
They conquered death to bring me victory

Now I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life within we cry
I know my Redeemer, He lives
To take away my shame
And He lives forever, I’ll proclaim

That the payment for my sin
Was the precious life He gave
But now He’s alive and
There’s an empty grave.

And I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life within me cry
I know my Redeemer,

I know my Redeemer
I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
I know that I know that I know that I know that I know my redeemer lives
Because He lives I can face tomorrow
I Know I know
He lives He lives yeah, yeah I spoke with him this morning
He lives He lives, the tomb is empty,
He lives I gotta tell everybody

Thank God for this brand new day! I’m glad I’m alive and well!

5th Day of Christmas / 2008 Female Vocalist of the Year

My personal choice for 2008 Female Vocalist of the year is non other than Marie Digby.

Marié Christina Digby (pronounced /mæɹi’eɪ ‘dɪgbi/ Ma-ree-AY Dig-Bee) (born April 16, 1983) is an American singer-songwriterguitarist and pianist. She is best known for her acoustic cover version of Rihanna’s No. 1 hit “Umbrella“, which attracted attention on YouTube in 2007. The song was subsequently played on the radio station STAR 98.7, was featured on the third season opening episode of the MTV show The Hills,[1] and peaked at #10 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. Marie performed the song on the late night talk show Last Call with Carson Daly on August 2, 2007.

Marie’s first official single, “Say It Again“, was released to radio stations on January 18, 2008. Her debut album, Unfold, was released on April 8, 2008.

Third Day (of Christmas)

Third Day - Christmas Offerings08306108282Just a few weeks before Christmas while i was looking out for a Christmas Album. I came across this review on this band called THIRD DAY in the  Solid Rock magazine. Their Christmas Album is entitled CHRISTMAS OFFERINGS (essential Records, 2006). There are 13 tracks in the album which includes popular tunes like; O Come All Ye Faithful, O Holy Night, What Child Is This & Angels We Have Heard On High just to name a few. I was searching thru YouTube and found a couple videos of them singing various Christmas songs in one of their concert. Here is O Holy Night to share with you! Enjoy

Boxing Day

clipboard02Boxing Day : The day after Christmas Day on the 26th of Dec ! To simply put it…its means to get rid of all boxes in the house after unwrapping Christmas gifts (assuming all gifts comes in boxes).  It is also a public holiday in countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Britain & USA. Many associate this day with MEGA SALES. I remembered one year when I was in toronto, canada. I was so excited and we woke up really early and toke a drive down to Future Shop. The queue was unbelievably long….people were like queuing under extreme weather. It was snowing and the wind was blowing real hard and despite  that, people are still eagerly waiting for the shop to open and rush in for a good deal. I must say the prices were pretty attractive, discount were as much as 50% off regular price…simple amazing!

For some reason, local retailers here in Singapore have not catch on to this yet. My thought was that as long as it makes money….retailers will be keen to try anything especially in times like this where the economy is expected to head south come 2009. As for me personally….the isn’t much “Boxing” to do this year anyway. This is a year where I can truly focus on the greatest gift to mankind, Jesus. The “truest” meaning of Christmas! If you are one of those lucky ones with lotsa boxes to clear, May i wish you A HAPPY BOXING DAY!

Add-on: I was told that malls in toronto were opened 24 hours, 3 days prior to Christmas Day. Something like this never happened before…people never work so hard before! Looks like retailers are finding it really challenging this year.

What is boxing day like in your country? Leave a message and tell us about it!

p/s: if you have pictures to share…do let me know. I’ll be glad it to post it here to share :) Cheers!

A Blessed CHRISTmas to all!

Christmas is the time of the year where people buy gifts for love ones and friends. It is also a season of sharing and giving….in particular Giving. But why giving? The bible tells that more then two thousands years ago, God sent his only son, Jesus to come into this world to die for our sins. It is through his one death that we may have life and have it more abundantly. You might say…i’ve got no sins. But the bible says, Anyone Who Looks at his brother with hatred in his heart has committed murder against his brother. For that reason, God has sent his only Son Jesus to die on the cross for th redemption of mankind. Jesus did not only die for christians. He came to die for the world, which includes you and I. Today, Christmas is a reminder for all Christians that God GAVE his only son to die on our behalf so that we may have life.  So gifiting is really a gesture to remind us what a great God we have and what a great saviour we have to die on cross for our sins…for the wages of sins is death.

Isaiah 9:6

6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
       And he will be called
       Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
       Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Merry Christmas to you and Peace be with you and your family.

Found this Pine Cone fallen from from a Pine Tree near my estate in Singapore. Came as a real suprise to me when I found it lying on the floor. I have been passing by that areas for a while now but did not notice these pine trees until recently when I started  paying more attention to my surrounding.  How many times in life that we are  all so busy and occupied with our own lives that we missed out on the simple yet beautiful things in life.
